Blockbusting? Lien? It sounds like I’m speaking another language, doesn’t it? Well, I sort of am. I’m speaking real estate. Confusing right? Hopefully not anymore.

We recognize that real estate lingo isn’t easy to figure out, especially if you’re new to the job. So, whether you’re looking to become a real estate agent or just looking for a refresher on your vocabulary, the Real Estate Dictionary is for you.A quick Google search will prove that there are plenty of terms and glossaries out there for you to skim through…and overwhelm you. To save you the time and the effort of sorting through it all, we’ve sifted through and picked the most important terms for your convenience. They’re terms that all real estate agents, old and new, must have in their vocabulary to impress their clients and close some deals. Here are just a few examples of the terms we’re debunking and breaking down for you:

Appurtenance: a right, privilege, or improvement belonging to and passing with a principal property.

Client: a customer that is in a binding contractual relationship with a realtor or broker.

Personal chattels: an item of movable personal property, such as furniture, domestic animals, etc.
